Volume One arrived this afternoon in the mail. I quickly open the package and extracted the CD eagerly fed my player the volume after sliding it from a beautifully inviting jacket (well done, very attractive and most inviting). I allowed it to download onto my itunes, track after track, patiently 1-8 while I read and examined the informative jacket, so I could get to know you better. Your jacket and the sleeve within were exceptionally concise with qualitative information and gave me so much more insight that I would never have known without. Your attached personal note to me is something that I know you really mean, "Gary, Thank you for your time. We hope you enjoy the CD. Jared Brandt". How could I not! As I listened to all the tracks, these are my first impressions: track 1 Soul of Gold I felt its mournful content reaching into me, as a poker stirs the fire! Wow, such haunting interaction in the song! You have found Soul of Gold! track 2 The C is Silent in Rap This is such a take on Rap, I Love it, I am still laughing inside my mind; and as for your fun, you are leaning on someones ignorance and they do not know it! Hillarious folderol with a touch of the absurd! track 3 Rule of Man You told me that you thought that I would like it, More than like it, it is a penetration of the Soul! It is inspirational. Souls to be Won! track 4 The First Melody I will not say more than to let you know what I think I hear is "I love you" repeated over and over! Musical mystery! track 5 Heartburn We have all had those nagging situations that wear us out and lead to Heartburn! You captured in song what many feel. lessons learned but too late for heartburn to not have its affect! Cool! tract 6 I Hate to See Her Go Love the throwback sound from my 50's memories, Good, oh so Good, Wa wa! Yep! I know that we all like to look at the pose struck in tight fitted jeans going the other way! It is a national pasttime of sorts. Waooh Wa, wa! track 7 That's What I Get Sad, deep, longing for something that is not there! Not something that will cheer you up, and nothing to take away the loss. The sadness envelopes you in cool sounds of of reflective and profound pain! Oh, to get past the pain! (too dark for some but wonderfully done) track 8 The Percussion Instrumental (untitled) As I listened, in brought back a memory from 40 years ago, almost to the day Three Dog Night Concert, Amarillo Texas 1969 I sat stage left in the coliseum, stage high looking in the bands left ear. Of course they were absolutely great, as they were really hot that Summer! The Drummer, and I cannot call his name, gave one of the most awesome performances that I have ever witnessed. We, fell totally silent during that solo rendition and our jaws were slack without word until after maybe 3-4 minutes of great rhythms from him, I let out a sharp whistle that broke the audience into a spectacular standing O He was cheered for many minutes as he gave more and more! Wow, that was a great touch from Y'all to put that into the mix on this CD. Then, when that last track completeed, I sat with a tear in my eye, fond memories do that you know! What else is there, ......You have a new fan if I can say that. I have not played or sang much in a while but it is something that I have enjoyed throughout my life. Thanks for bringing some new sound into my life as you will to countless others, I believe. Best Wishes and Keep playing and writing great song! Friend, follower, fan, Gary L Beasley |
